Detectortesters has been accredited as a UK Living Wage Employer

Posted in: News

We are delighted to announce that Detectortesters has been accredited as a UK Living Wage Employer. This means that every member of staff working for Detectortesters in the UK earns a real Living Wage. This commitment applies to not only directly employed staff but also to our third party contracted staff. At the heart of the Living Wage movement is the simple idea that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

In 2016, the UK government introduced a rise in the minimum wage for over 25s and called this new statutory minimum: The National Living Wage. But there is still a gap between the amount all employers have to pay by law and the real Living Wage that meets the cost of living. That’s why thousands of UK employers have voluntarily committed to going further - because it’s fair.

The real Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually, based on the cost of living in the UK. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. It is currently £10.90 in the UK, with a higher rate of £11.95 for London, reflecting the higher costs of living in the capital. Since 2011, the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 450,000 people and put over £2 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers. Being accredited helps us to demonstrate that we are a responsible employer that values our people and best practice.

We’re delighted that No Climb Products Ltd joined the movement of over 12,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on. They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as Burberry, Barclays, Everton Football Club and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like No Climb Products Ltd, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.
