ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND GOVERNANCE (ESG)

What is sustainability?

Defined in 1987 as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs,” sustainability is becoming our generation’s “global agenda for change” and demands all countries and non-state entities commitment to build a prosperous and secure future for the present and the next generations to come.

 ESG Framework

In 2022 we appointed a third-party sustainability agency to carry out a detailed materiality analysis for the business.  The results of this analysis were then used to shape our ESG strategy in line with the expectations of our stakeholders including; customers, employees, investors, governments and regulators.

Our sustainability / ESG approach spans eight workstream pillars that cover all our identified material issues.

Sustainable Sourcing & Product Lifecycle

Our aim is to minimise environmental impacts of our products across their whole lifecycle.

Information Security & Data Privacy

Protect the data of our business and customers from internal and external threats through effective risk management.

Governance, and Reporting

Maintain high standards of corporate governance and commit to fostering a culture of integrity across our business.

Health and Safety

Ensuring the well-being and safety of our team and others remains our focus and fundamental purpose as a company.

Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact

Through our ESG strategy, we are committed to upholding the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact which we see as a minimum standard of sustainability in relation to human rights, labour standards, anti-corruption and environment. These principles have been embedded in our Code of Conduct and Policies. Furthermore, we actively try to play our part in contributing positively through our operation, ESG framework and conduct to the following five UN Sustainable Development Goals:

E_WEB_03.png

This goal is directly aligned to our company vision, “to provide innovative, connected solutions that protect people’s lives and property”. Day in, day out we manufacture safety testing products that ultimately reduce fire risk and improve societal safety.

E_WEB_05.png

We are committed to increase the representation of women in our organisation both at managerial levels and to encourage more girls to engage in a STEM focussed career. We endorse the Women’s Empowerment Principles

E_WEB_08.png

We will ensure the availability of a skilled workforce through ongoing training and development opportunities, paying the living wage, offering apprenticeships, and developing educational business partnerships. Ensuring an inclusive workplace for all.

E_WEB_12.png

We strive to make advances in our product design to deliver on improved resource efficiency through longer life products, product recycling guidance and increased awareness of the waste Duty of Care code of practice among our workforces.

E_WEB_13.png

Our direct operations, plus the manufacture, operation and end-of-life of our safety products causes GHG emissions that contribute to climate change. We are committed in reducing and mitigating environmental impact of our operations in line with our ISO14001 Environmental Management System
