What batteries does it use? Does it ship with them?
2x AAA alkaline, type GP24A 1.5 V. Units ship with batteries pre-installed and isolated by a pull tab - remove the tab before first use.
Can I use rechargeables?
No - use alkaline AAA only; do not use or attempt to recharge NiMH / NiCd / Li-ion cells.
How do I replace the batteries?
Open the rear cover with a #00 cross-head screwdriver, replace both cells with AAA GP24A 1.5V observing polarity, refit the cover, then power on. The app will also show "Critical Battery Level" when it's time to change.
Any battery safety tips?
Don't mix old / new or brands; don't head, short, or incinerate; keep dry; and recycle responsibly per WEEE.
